Police search for teen's killer

February 21, 2010 (CHICAGO)

On Sunday, Rogger Escalante was at a party at his friend's house on West Potomac. Witnesses say the trouble started when some uninvited people showed up.

At one point, someone pulled out a gun and started firing. Escalante, a Roosevelt High School student, was hit in the chest.

On Monday, Mayor Daley stressed that the shooting is not part of the violence problem at some of Chicago's public schools.

"It has nothing to do with Chicago Public Schools- again 2 a.m., a 16-year-old. We have to ask the question, why at two o'clock in the morning," said Mayor Daley.

Two other teenagers were shot at the party. They're expected to be OK.
