Emporis, a global building database, has named the Aqua Chicago tower as its skyscraper of the year for 2009. It was selected for its shape, technical achievement and precise construction.
The structure was designed by Chicago architect Jeanne Gang.
This is the first time Emporis has given the award to a Chicago skyscraper.
The City's Trump International Hotel and Tower also made the list, coming in at No. 5.
