A rally was held at King College Prep. Organizers say it is an important issue in their communities because it affects the destiny of children.
They want lawmakers to help Chicago Public Schools.
"Students deserve to have the best educational system in the world. the brutal facts in the rally is when our funding is dropping year after year after year it makes it impossible to provide the education our children deserve," said Ron Huberman, Chicago Public Schools CEO.
After the rally organizers headed off to Springfield.
