Des Plaines man accused of child sex assault

March 5, 2010 (DES PLAINES, Ill.)

Christopher Johnson, 43, of the 9400-block of Bay Colony Drive in Des Plaines, was arrested Wednesday on one count each of criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse for acts committed upon a child known to him.

It's the second time he's faced these allegations in a decade.

The Cook County sheriff became involved after a complaint was filed with state officials. According to investigators, the victim confirmed the allegations and Johnson confessed.

Johnson has worked as a patient care technician and physical therapy aide in the northwest suburbs. Therefore, police are expanding their investigation to determine if there are other victims. Anyone with information should call (708) 865-4896.

Johnson is being held at Cook County Jail and will appear in court on March 17 in Skokie.

In 2000, Johnson was found not guilty of sexually assault against a young child in Chicago.
