A sterling silver antique European chandelier will be restored and re-hung in the building to be the centerpiece of a new senior living facility.
Alderman Brendan Reilly and the developer who is remodeling the classic building were on hand Thursday as the chandelier came down. It includes 16 classic French figurines and three rows of lights.
The new senior housing community, complete with the preserved chandelier, should be ready for occupants by 2012.
