McCormick dip mix recall expanded

Spice maker McCormick & Co. Inc. said Thursday it is expanding a recall of some of its products in case they are contaminated with salmonella bacteria.The company said last week that it was recalling McCormick French Onion dip mix, McCormick vegetable dip mix, McCormick onion gravy mix and McCormick corn bread stuffing with certain "Best By" dates and product codes. Thursday, the company added more "Best By" dates to that list.

Salmonella is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children and others with weakened immune systems.

No illnesses have been associated with these McCormick products. Information on recalls is being updated online by the Food and Drug Administration http://www.fda.gov/safety/recalls/default.htm.

Consumers who have the recalled products at home should call McCormick's consumer hot line, 1-800-632-5847, to arrange for a replacement or refund.
