While one man was captured without incident, a second was found hiding under a log. A third got stuck in a marsh after laying down in it to hide.
The chase began at 11 p.m. Wednesday when police say the three were seen leaving an apartment complex near Wilke and Dundee roads carrying shotguns. The driver of the SUV, Hiram Chavez, 36, of Arlington Heights, was charged with fleeing and eluding police, which is a misdemeanor.
Victor Lujano, 27, of Arlington Heights, was caught after he laid down in about 6-12 inches of marshy water with only his face sticking out of the water and became stuck. He is charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
Jorge Gonzalez-Macedonio, 31, was captured by a K-9 unit while hiding under a log in a wooded area, police say. He is charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
All three are members of the Sureno 13 street gang, police say.
