Justice Stevens, 89, weighs leaving Supreme Court

Chicago native and Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens is contemplating retirement.The late President Gerald Ford appointed Stevens to the high court in 1975.

Stevens is the oldest and longest-serving current member of the Supreme Court.

Stevens tells the New Yorker he plans to retire from the Supreme Court either after this current judicial term or within the next three years.

He is expected to decide next month when he turns 90 years old.
