Man arrested for battery at St. Charles bar

March 17, 2010 (ST. CHARLES, Ill.) The incident took place Saturday around 10:40 p.m. when police were sent to the bar to break up a fight at 106 S. 1st Avenue in St. Charles.

Police say Thomas B. Clark, 31, of the 1700-block of Onion Drive in Batavia, was upset because the bar would no longer serve him alcohol. Police say he proceeded to punch a bouncer in the face, breaking his glasses.

Police say upon their arrival, Clark resisted arrest and pushed a sergeant but was eventually placed in the back of a squad car, where Clark allegedly kicked out the driver's side rear window of the squad car with his feet.

Once in custody, police say Clark also kicked an officer in the shoulder at the police station.

Clark faces two counts of aggravated battery to a peace officer, felony criminal damage to state supported property and battery. Clark was released on bond.
