A popular retailer is looking to downsize its stores.

After expanding in the 1990s, the Gap operates stores as large as 18,000 square feet. It now wants to reduce the average store size to about 10,000 square feet.

In locations where the gap has multiple outlets such as gap kids and baby gap... The company plans to consolidate into a single store.
