Protest at Cook Co. juvenile detention center

March 23, 2010 (CHICAGO)

The demonstrators carried signs, chanted and marched outside the detention center. A protest spokesman claimed that both the young detainees and the staff are in danger.

"Children detained here are going to the hospital at an alarming rate. Employees are injured by children more than ever before. Children are out of control in this facility. Its violence is spilling out into the streets with deadly consequences for our youth," said Clifford Little, detention center counselor.

The center's administrator told ABC7 the protestors are disgruntled employees.
