The Chicago Police Independent Review Authority is looking into the claims of two men who say they are the victims of a brutal beating by Chicago police officers.

The men have filed a lawsuit.

The February incident was recorded on surveillance video outside Arturo's Taco's on North Western.

Matthew Clark and Gregory Malandrucco say that after inadvertently blocking the plainclothes officers' path to the cash register the officers waited and beat them in the parking lot. The lawsuit also read, "when uniformed officers arrived they told the men to forget the incident and left them in the parking lot without providing medical attention."

"It's easy to take a small video out of context and try to figure what really happened so we have to wait for everybody to do their jobs and hopefully that will be in the near future," said Supt. Jody Weis, Chicago Police Department.

The city's law department is not commenting yet on the suit.

The men are seeking unspecified damages.
