Judge: Dad can't take toddler to Easter services

March 25, 2010 6:59:01 AM PDT
A Cook County judge has ruled that Joseph Reyes, 35, will not be allowed to take his daughter to Catholic Mass Easter Sunday. Reyes has been embroiled in a bitter divorce and custody battle with the girl's mother, Rebecca Reyes.

After several weeks of hearings, Judge Rene Goldfarb upheld the temporary restraining order issued against Joseph Reyes that prevents him from exposing his 3-year-old daughter to any other religion than the Jewish faith.

The judge is expected to issue a final ruling regarding the girl's custody next month.
