Palm Sunday celebrated at Chicago churches

March 28, 2010 (CHICAGO) Francis Cardinal George celebrated mass at Holy Name Cathedral. Like the pope, Cardinal George did not address the ongoing abuse controversy. Instead, he focused on a Holy Week prayer message of forgiveness and strength.

"The death of your son gives us hope and strength. We ask this through Christ the Lord," said Cardinal George during a prayer.

Christian Holy Week will culminate later this week with Good Friday services marking Jesus' Crucifixion and next Sunday's celebration of His Resurrection on Easter.
