Lifestyle changes could ease knee arthritis

You can make lifestyle changes to lessen the pain within six months of your diagnosis. The results of a Canadian study finds people suffering from knee pain will take steps to treat it by trying to lose weight and exercise.

The study participants were mostly overweight women in their 60s. Researchers found those who exercised more saw an improvement in knee function, and their pain decreased.

The findings are published in the journal Arthritis Care and Research.
