Construction projects begin April 1

March 31, 2010 (CHICAGO)

A massive project starts on April 1 on the Eisenhower Expressway. Twenty seven miles will be resurfaced in both directions stretching from Thorndale to the Circle Interchange. The project is expected to be completed by this fall.

And the Congress Parkway Bridge will also be repaired. For the next two years there will only be two inbound lanes and one outbound. The roadway and sidewalks on Congress between Wells and Michigan Avenue will also be repaired.

Work on Wacker Drive between Randolph and Congress begins on April 5. That's when Lower Wacker will be reduced to one lane in each direction and work on Upper Wacker will begin next year.
