April 2, 2010 (LOMBARD, Ill.) --A popular summer festival in the western suburbs run by the Jaycees has been saved. On Thursday night, the village of Lombard voted five to zero to bring back the Taste of Lombard for 2010. Last month, the board voted to cancel the food festival.
The village required the Jaycees to pay for police at the festival. But the organization was unable to find the funding. They came up with a new proposal to impose a $2 gate charge for all attendees. The village board voted yes.
