A backlog of thousands of petitions still exists, but Governor Quinn granted pardons Friday to more than 100 convicted criminals.Quinn pardoned 147 people and authorized two others who had already been pardoned to seek the expunging of their records.
The governor denied 258 other petitions. His office does not release details about who was pardoned.
The backlog built up by former governor Rod Blagojevich remains large.
A spokesperson for Governor Quinn says 2,450 petitions are still in need of action.
