U.S. Flag of Honor for fallen Homewood firefighter

April 2, 2010 (CHICAGO) The United States Honor Flag was flown to O'Hare airport Friday in memory of 28-year-old Brian Carey. He died while trying to save a man who was trapped in his home.

Despite Carey's effort, that man also died.

A ceremony was held at O'Hare as the flag arrived.

The United States Honor Flag is flown all over the country to honor fallen heroes. It will be displayed at next week's wake and funeral for Carey, who was the first Homewood firefighter ever killed on the job.
