The Illinois Institute of Art wants to open a satellite campus in the south suburbs.

A public hearing will be held next week.

Plans call for a branch to be located in a business park at 185th Street and 80th Avenue in Tinley Park.

Exterior and common areas of the 23,000 square foot building are already complete.

The Illinois Institute of Art wants to lease the building for at least 10 years. The school already has locations in Schaumburg and in downtown.

School officials expect a south suburban location will attract up to 600 students.
