After just minor delays at the start of the project two weeks ago, some drivers are now reporting their commute has grown by more than two hours.
Twenty two miles of the inbound Ike have been prepped for the resurfacing project.
Crews are still closing lanes on the outbound side so the frustration is bound to grow even more.
