State Senate president's son gets DUI

April 18, 2010 (CHICAGO) Garritt Cullerton was driving a vehicle registered to the state Senate when he was pulled over near Dearborn and Chicago. Police say Cullerton's blood alcohol level was above the state's legal limit of .08.

Senator Cullerton says he had not given his son authorization to use the state vehicle.

In a statement Sunday night, a spokesperson for the senator said he is disappointed that the incident occurred and takes the matter very seriously and that he will work to ensure that it does not occur in the future.
