Gas prices on the rise

April 19, 2010 (CHICAGO)

Analysts say high oil prices, high demand in China and uncertainty about the U.S. economy are to blame.

According to the American Automobile Association, a gallon of regular, unleaded gas has already increased 20 cents so far this month.

The national average for the month is forecast at $3 per gallon. That's 89 cents more than last year.

In Cook County, a gallon of regular, unleaded gas is #3.16. That's up 23 cents from last month and 95 cents higher than last year.
