Lashunda Hopson, 21, was walking late Tuesday afternoon to class at Olive Harvey College when she was struck by a van at 95th and Normal. She was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, but died last night.
Hopson wanted to graduate this fall. Her family says she hoped to give her two-year-old son a better life.
Police have cited Michael Conner of Crestwood for striking a pedestrian in the roadway and failure to exercise due care.
