'Dia de Los Ninos' celebrated in Pilsen

April 24, 2010 (CHICAGO) It's a way of reminding families of the importance of education in a child's life.

Several students received scholarships during Saturday's celebration. This year's event focused on teaching children about choosing a healthy lifestyle.

Mayor Daley was recognized for starting the celebration 12 years ago.

ABC7 Chicago's Theresa Gutierrez was the grand marshall for the Dia de Los Ninos parade.
