Late officer honored for volunteerism

A Chicago police officer who died last year is honored at the Anti-Cruelty Society.Officer Craig Ford was a volunteer at the Chicago Animal Care and Control Center, as well as the Anti-Cruelty Society.

Friends and family gathered on what would have been Officer Ford's 41st birthday. The 12-year veteran died in December 2009 from an illness.

A wall tile was permanently placed in the Lenore Shapiro Adoption Garden in Officer Ford's honor
