Settlement reached in lawn mower suit

April 27, 2010 The settlement could mean money back if you own one of the mowers. The suit accuses Sears, Toro, Honda, John Deere and several other manufacturers of inflating horsepower strengths on lawn mower engines. The lawsuit does not question the safety of the mowers.

Under the settlement, consumers will receive up to $35 for push mowers and up to $75 for riding mowers purchased between January 1994 and April of 2010. The mowers may also be eligible for an extended warranty.
