Judge sues Vernon Hills village, police

A Lake County judge has filed a federal lawsuit against the Village of Vernon Hills and the police officers who pepper-sprayed him during a DUI arrest two years ago.Judge David Hall was arrested in April 2007 aAter officers say his car cross the center line on Route 60.

ABC7 Chicago news partner the Daily Herald reports the lawsuit claims the judge posed no threat to officers during the arrest.

However, police say he was pepper-sprayed when he refused to get out of the car.

The Vernon Hills Police Department is standing by the actions of its officers.

Hall's DUI and resisting arrest case is still pending.
