An Iowa man who has suffered two devastating losses over the last year has just won the lottery.

Richard Koenigsfeld's wife died of cancer in March, and his youngest son died in November after a construction accident.

Recently, Richard bought a winning $1 million dollar scratch-off ticket on his deceased wife's birthday.

Koenigsfeld says he will share some of the winnings with his other children and invest the rest for retirement.
