Update on Eisenhower, the Dog

April 30, 2010 (CHICAGO)

Officials are calling the dog "Eisenhower." The four-year-old pit bull was taken to a 24-hour facility overnight but is expected to be back at Hill Chester Animal Hospital sometime Friday. So far no one has claimed him, officials said. He was not wearing a collar.

The dog darted in and out of traffic on the Eisenhower Expressway Wednesday morning before disappearing into the forest preserve. Police were able to catch up with him when he pulled the same stunt Thursday.

Officers said he was tired and ready to give up.
