Fifty years ago Sunday, a radio legend made his debut on WLS-AM. A half-century later, Dick Biondi is still playing rock and roll, only now, he's at WLS-FM.During his career, Biondi earned a lasting place in American pop culture. He was the first disc jockey in the country to play the Beatles' song 'Please, Please Me.'

Gov. Pat Quinn proclaimed Sunday Dick Biondi Day, and Biondi talked Sunday about the best part of his job.

"Just meeting people, not only celebrities, but meeting the people in the Chicago area. And I say this every night, the best radio audience anywhere in the country," Biondi said.

Dick Biondi has been honored by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame.
