Chicago ministers: Get guns off streets, create jobs

May 5, 2010 (CHICAGO)

The ministers say providing more jobs is only one solution to quell the violence. They're pushing for lawmakers to develop a more detailed action plan.

"We want to take the Olympic plan off the shelf again. We have a plan in Chicago. The plan was if the Olympics came to Chicago, we'd build new villages security for the children of the world and create jobs, build new buildings. We have a plan now," said Rev. Jesse Jackson, Rainbow Push Coalition.

Jackson and other ministers are promising more mass marches and demonstrations to help bring about change.
