Armed Forces Day is Saturday, May 15th and you can help make sure local service members deployed overseas are not forgotten.(News Release) Do you know someone deployed from the Fox Valley area? Here is how you can help! Why not honor and support our local deployed service members on May 15, Armed Forces Day. Our nation is at war and our local Troops need to be assured that the folks back home unconditionally support them. Fox Valley Troop Support is a group of patriotic citizens whose mission is supporting our local troops with letters and care packages who are deployed around the globe. Tips for letter writing and suggested care package items are listed on our website www.fvts.org The Tri City area has always been very supportive of our deployed troops but donations in the busy spring and summer months have been low. Now more than ever they need to hear from you.
Many local Troops have already deployed and many are preparing for an upcoming deployment and will be away from their loved ones during the long summer months Here is how you can help a deployed servicemember receive a little bit of a little bit of cheer from the folks back home. Letter writing opportunities will also be offered at the care package event.
Fox Valley Troop Support Inc is partnered with the Batavia Veterans of Foreign Wars. Our spring community care package dates at the Batavia VFW are: Friday May 14 will be for dropping off donations and sorting. (5-8 PM), Saturday, May 15 (Armed Forces Day), care packages will be prepared (10-3PM) and Monday, May 17, inspection and sealing of care packages (5-8 PM)
