Witnesses said a blue and white van triggered a pile-up around 3:30 p.m. Friday at South Kedzie and South Archer on the city's Southwest Side. Five vehicles- a van, two SUVs and two cars- were involved.
Nine people were injured. Three of them are pedestrians, police said.
The victims were taken to local hospitals
Two other people refused treatment at the scene, police said. Several CTA buses that use Archer had to be rerouted because of this accident.
