Site creates online market for legal services

May 12, 2010 (CHICAGO)

A new web site, thelawyermarket.com is creating an online market for legal services.

People who need legal help can sign on to the site and list their problem anonymously. Then lawyers bid on what they would charge to help and what services they can provide.

The co-founders of the site say the typical way lawyers and clients interact drives up the price of legal fees and it isn't efficient.

"We said this is just a broken system, this is not a functional market and we thought that between the four of us, we have all of the skill sets, training and expertise to make a better solution, a better market," said Richard Komaiko, co-founder, thelawyermarket.com.
