A pursuit and shooting on the Eisenhower Expressway began with a carjacking in west suburban Hillside. It ended in Chicago at Jackson and Keeler when the suspect was taken into custody. That person was reportedly shot by a suburban police officer during the pursuit.

A relative of the stolen van's owner described how the whole thing started.

"They were waiting for him by his house. From there, they grabbed him and started to shoot at him, and they had a police chase on 290. From 290, they ended up here, and I guess they caught the guys here," the cousin said.

The Chicago Fire Department took one person to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious to critical condition.
