Bat attack victim moved to rehab center

May 17, 2010 (CHICAGO) McShane, a University of Illinois at Chicago graduate student from Northern Ireland, had been at Northwestern Memorial Hospital since she and friend Stacy Jurich, 23, were attacked April 23.

McShane's family released a statement May 7 that said she was out of a coma and had exhibited "limited" brain activity. There has been no additional update.

Jurich is out of the hospital and attended a fundraiser for McShane last weekend.

Two people -- Heriberto Viramontes, 30, and Marcy Cruz, 25, -- have been charged in the beating and were due in court Monday.
