CPD honors fallen officers with name plates

May 23, 2010 (CHICAGO) Police Supt. Jody Weis was joined at Sunday's ceremony by members of the Police History Committee and the Police Memorial Foundation.

The families of fallen officers were given the original brass nameplates from the superintendent's star case, which was relocated to the new police headquarters at 35th Street and Michigan Avenue.

Weis called the nameplates a sign of pride and an assurance that the department will never forget their families' sacrifices.
