Those who wanted a good spot had to get there early.
"We were out here at about 8 o'clock this morning. Kids are getting a little tired. So, we're going to head back and do something different," said Rick Juarez.
"This is what we wait for all winter. And very white, we're trying to get our tans, but more than anything, this is a gift," said volleyball player Susan Schmidt Donaldson.
And it's one gift Chicagoans do not take for granted.
