Study: Blood pressure meds use on target

May 25, 2010

According to a study in the Journal of the American Medical Association, that is helping to meet a government goal set a decade ago.

The news means that many Americans are reducing their risk of life-threatening health problems.

Experts say there are still too many other people who do not have their high blood pressure under control.

Cost of medication and lack of access to a doctor are issues for many of these patients.

Losing weight and getting exercise also can reduce blood pressure, but the study suggests not a lot of people are making those changes.
