Crosstown Culinary Classic

June 7, 2010

The two chefs actually are teaming up for this special baseball-themed dinner at the Seasons Restaurant to benefit Common Threads. The organization, founded by another Chicagoan Chef Art Smith, teaches children and teens the importance of nutrition and physical well-being and fosters an appreciation for cultural diversity through cooking. Common Threads touches nearly 1,000 children annually from Chicago's most underserved neighborhoods.

The evening – which has become a culinary tradition during the Crosstown series between the Sox and Cubs – begins at 6 p.m. with a Ballpark Reception showcasing Hickey and Kim's interpretations of favorite ballpark snacks. A silent auction will feature autographed sports memorabilia, culinary experiences and getaways. ABC 7's Jim Rose will be the special guest and emcee.

At 7:30p.m, Hickey and Kim will serve up a creative three-course dinner. The evening culminates with the Bleacher Sweets Reception featuring "Caramel Corn" "Funnel Cakes" and "Champagne and Beer Floats" and more.

Tickets are $150 for the event. Price includes gratuity. For reservations, call Common Threads at 312 329 2501 ext. 204 or visit commonthreads.org.
