The Museum of Science and Industry saw some star power Saturday night as the Chicago International Film Festival honored the career of Oscar- winning director Ron Howard. Howard is currently shooting a film in Chicago, starring Vince Vaughn, Kevin James, Jennifer Connolly, and Winona Ryder. They were all on hand at the event.

The director of films like A Beautiful Mind, "Apollo 13 and Frost/Nixon was humble as he discussed this latest award and why he likes making movies in Chicago.

"It's a great American city. Great actors here because of the theater program and improv history, and all of the movies and TV shows that get made here, too. Visually, it's spectacular," said Howard.

"Ron's great. He's one of the best directors around. So, we're really flattered to have an opportunity to work with him," said actor Vince Vaughn.

Howard received the Silver Hugo Career Achievement award at the film festival's annual summer gala.

Proceeds raised at Saturday night's event finance the year-round programs of Cinema/Chicago.
