Activists protest possible CPS budget cuts

The threat of budget cuts by the Chicago Board of Education inspired a march and rally Thursday.

Protesters marched to City Hall to call on Mayor Daley to end the school budget crisis by returning funds that have been diverted. They mayor has said a lack of money from the state is the reason for the problem.

On Tuesday the school board approved an option to lay off nearly 3,000 teachers to help close the budget gap.
