Emergency drill staged on CTA

A CTA train derailment was staged in Chicago Thursday as part of preparations for emergency response.

Early Thursday morning, the staged disaster drill played out at 15th and Clark. The drill included a mock contamination requiring police, firefighters, search and rescue nd hazardous material teams.

A series of drills has been held since Sunday in the city and suburbs. They will test the response of more than 50 local, state, federal and private agencies.

Chopper 7 HD was also over the scene of a simulated chemical explosion at the Nalco plant in the 6200-block of West 66th Place in Chicago.
