Streamwood officer accused in beating fired

A police officer accused of beating a motorist during a traffic stop in west suburban Streamwood has been fired.James Mandarino is charged with aggravated battery and official misconduct. his squad car's camera recorded the incident on March 28.

Prosecutors say the video shows Mandarino striking Ronald Bell, 28, with his baton 15 times.

The tape shows no sign of the driver or his passenger resisting the officer.
