Licensed health care professionals from other states can now work at any of the free medical clinics operating in Illinois.Governor Quinn signed House bill 5744 into law Saturday in La Grange.

Quinn says the idea behind the bill is to increase the pool of doctors, nurses, and other health care workers available to staff the free clinics.

The new law takes effect immediately.

The clinics provide a health care option for families without adequate health care insurance.
