Maggie Daley says she's feeling fine

June 24, 2010 (CHICAGO)

Mrs. Daley was greeted with applause.

The meeting included performances of students involved in After School Matters. The non-profit organization offers Chicago high school students a variety of activities. It was founded by Mrs. Daley, and she was far more interested in talking about the students than her battle against cancer.

""I'm experiencing new treatments," she said, "but really why I'm here is for these teenagers, and that's really what I want to talk about. That's my, that's what I think is the most important. You know, we don't do enough for them, we really don't."

Mrs. Daley is still getting around on crutches.

A titanium rod was placed in her leg this spring as part of her cancer treatment.
