On the country's birthday, one Chicago man celebrated a pretty big birthday of his own.

Herbert Warren turned 100 years old Sunday.

He and Leona, his wife of 54 years, celebrated with friends Sunday night on the South Side.

Herbert credits his longevity to daily walks, frequent bike rides, and his personal credo: "If you're sick, don't lay in bed, get up and do something."

He and Leona have five kids and more than 20 grandchildren.
