It happened Friday morning in the 6300-block of North Ridge Avenue.
A man driving a newer model royal blue pickup truck with shiny wheels, and wearing a red cap, drove up to the girl and asked if she needed a ride. Police say he followed her, honked and told her to get in, but the girl ran to school and alerted security.
Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call police.
