New documents obtained by the Chicago Tribune show how some Metra executives got extra compensation.

Former Metra executive director Phil Pagano gave four top aides an extra week of vacation per year, unknown to them and Metra's directors.

According to the Tribune, records show Pagano's base salary went up and that he gave some employees and himself thousands in extra pay.

A spokesperson for Metra chairwoman Carole Doris says Metra's board and Doris are working to make sure that policies are now being followed properly.
